Cuisinart CBK-200 2-Pound Convection Automatic Bread Maker Review

OK I just bought this for my wife on Mother’s Day. We really love it. Our first loaf of Bread, we followed directions from the book to a “T.” When you remove the kneading paddle just before the baking cycle, there is nothing in the book about putting any grease or butter in the pan to make your loaf come out easily. The book blithely describes a process of turning your pan upside down and applying a couple of gentle shakes, and pfft the Bread will drop out easily. My wife who has baked a lot of loaves of Bread prior to this, pointed out that you will have to grease the pan, or that bread will not come out easily. As always, my wife was right. We had to pry that loaf out with a knife, and nearly damaged the pan. The next loaf she made, she greased the pan, during the kneading paddle removal stage. The Bread came out very easily. Other than this little lesson, we love it. It makes great Bread effortlessly, and the recipe book is just fabulous. There must be 100 recipes in it. I thought this tip would be very helpful.

Remanufactured Cuisinart CBK-200FR 2-Pound Convection Automatic Bread Maker Review

I purchased this item as a replacement for my old bread maker which started to show its age due to heavy use and got slightly damaged from a fall off the counter while kneeding the dough. This new one is fairly heavy which helps to keep it on the counter, actually it barely moving while kneeding. Nice feature is the signal and optional pause to pull out the kneeding blade which takes care of the whole on the bottom of the loaf. Functions are pretty much the same as any bread maker, including express bake. During the baking process, the machine itself stays fairly cool so no worries about heating something outside the machine. Downside is that when baking in the whole wheat cycle, compared to my old machine, this one takes an hour longer due to the preheat process. The other downside is the price for a new machine. I got mine refurbished which saved me a significant amount of money.
