I was able to purchase this for only .00 since I had an Amazon gift certificate, so I’m a happy camper already. I’ve made 5 loaves so far, and I love it. I’m deducting 1 star from a perfect rating because the display IS hard to read (what genius thought of using white type on a yellow background anyway?). To solve this, I used a super-fine tip sharpie pen and wrote over the white type so I could read easily.
Otherwise, a good machine for the money. Unlike some reviewers, my machine doesn’t rock or move violently and it has worked fine since purchase. I guess there are lemons in every product, but I’ve found Amazon’s return policy to be very good, so if you happen to get a dud one, you should be able to easily replace.
This machine makes good loaves. I’ve experimented with the three sizes (1 lb., 1.5 lb. and 2 lb.) and have personally found the 1.5 lb. loaf to be the best for my family. As long as you make precise measurements (very important), you should have good success with the loaves.
You could spend much more for a bread maker, but I don’t think it’s necessary. This one is wonderful for the price.
