I am a complete novice at bread making. I have made 2 loaves of whole wheat bread with this machine, using different recipes. The second recipe worked better. It has been fun, to see my bread come to life right before my eyes. My bread tastes much better than store bought, and it is nice knowing only fresh ingredients with no preservatives are in the bread. The bread is a little dense, but after review, I believe this is because it is 100% whole wheat. Not sure why some of the reviewers are having so many problems, it seems to me if you just follow the directions precisely (as I did) then it works! Also there is a trouble shooting section in the book to help resolve any problems. Obviously, there is a learning curve with anything new!

This is my second bread maker, the first one was a more-than-disappointing Morphy Richards. I’ve been reading reviews on bread makers for ages and wanted a small one as I live in a very small place. I live in UK and when I bought the little Zo I didn’t realise it was different voltage (how stupid can anyone be!), so when it arrived in the post after, what it seemed a very long wait, I was lucky the plug did not fit the UK sockets, otherwise I’d have burned it down! So I searched for a voltage transformer and bought one they sell here for power tools, which is better and cheaper than a stepdown transformer. Anyway, the little Zo works like magic, never had a failure, the bread come out so perfect every time. I’m not sure if I’m the only UK buyer of this jewel, but after all the money I paid for the machine, customs, tax and the transformer I still can say that its worth every penny, this is a dream bread maker and I use it every day!!
Together with Linda Rehberg & Lois Conway books, even if you’re a total beginner in bread making, you’ll never be disappointed.
